DK is an author, editor and/or art director of books and articles on packaging, marketing and branding, and writes a column for Communication Arts magazine. Her new book, Branding for Nonprofits: Developing Identity with Integrity, has just been published by Allworth Press. DK was a partner at the Pushpin Group, the internationally acclaimed design firm, with renowned designer Seymour Chwast until 2001. After leaving Pushpin, she began working primarily with socially progressive organizations. DK was named the University of Kansas’s Hallmark professor of design, and teaches in various programs in the US and abroad including Syracuse University and Elisava School of Design (Barcelona). She was recognized by the Graphic Artists Guild with the Walter Hortens Award for Outstanding Achievement in Professional Practice.
DK teaches in the MFA Communications Design program.
