MS Communications Design

As I am transitioning from fine arts to design, I consider myself an artist-designer. I graduated from the Bachelors of Humanities and Arts (B.H.A.) program at Carnegie Mellon University in 2009, where I concentrated in Fine Arts, Creative and Professional Writing, and minored in Business Administration.

Presently I am a second-year graduate student at Pratt Institute pursuing a Masters of Science (M.S.) in Communications Design with a Digital Design emphasis. With my design work, I like to employ illustration because I feel that other people can relate better to the personalization. I am also a firm believer that clever, simple designs make for a greater impact. I am passionate about social issues, particularly those relating to Asian American identity, and feel that as a designer that I have a responsibility to address them. My thesis, which I am currently working on, is on strengthening Asian American identity in media.
