Designer: Bonder and Carnase; Lubalin Smith and Carnase (1969). In 1973, opened Artissimo, Inc. In 1978 joined Herb Lubalin Associates as Vice President and Partner. In 1980 opened Tony Di Spigna,Inc. In 1999 he won The Pratt Institute Distinguished Professor Award. He has designed numerous typefaces, most notably Serif Gothic and exclusive typefaces for PBS Channel WNET 13, The Coca Cola Co., and The Louis Dreyfus Corp. In July 2007, he had a one man exhibit in The Museo Civico del Torrione, Naples, Italy. In 2007, he became co-founder and design director of THINSTROKE,INC., a complete service design firm. He is designing new typefaces for the international market which will be launched in 2008.
Tony teaches in the MS Communications Design program.
