TOM DOLLE is principal of Tom Dolle Design, a New York-based strategic design, marketing and branding firm.
A graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, Dolle was a senior designer with Shapiro Design Associates before founding his firm in 1983. He joined the Pratt Graduate Communications Design faculty in 1992, where he is currently an Adjunct Professor, faculty advisor for the Graduate Design Guild/Barnes & Noble project, and has curated several exhibitions in the Pratt Manhattan Gallery.
Having worked with a range of corporate clients such as Citibank, Dun & Bradstreet, ESPN, Charles Schwab, Northern Trust, Verizon, RH Donnelly, Reed Elsevier, and Time Warner, Dolle has steered the company’s current focus to branding, communications and packaging for retail, arts and non-profit organizations. Recent clients include The Getty Trust, the Doe Fund, Baruch College, The Foundation Center, CECP and National Urban Fellows. He also serves as design consultant to several large product and communications firms, directing strategy, staffing, long-range planning and product development.
Tom Dolle Design has garnered design awards from AIGA, Art Direction, Print Regional, Top 40 Annual Reports, Art Directors Club, DESI, American Corporate Identity, American Graphic Design Awards, Creativity, Desi: Graphic Design USA, ID Magazine, International Brand Packaging, International Logos and Trademarks, Mead Award of Merit, Nicholson Award-NIAC, Society of Illustrators, Society of Publication Designers and Type Directors Club. He has been quoted on design issues in The New York Times, Crain´s New York Business and Communication Arts. Dolle is a critic, guest lecturer and spokesperson for design issues in national and international forums.
