Pratt is recognized as one of the top graphic design schools in the country & most influential of the past half century in a survey of 10,000 design professionals by Graphic Design USA magazine; an alumnus of the program was named as the most influential graphic designer working today.

GradComD Student Gina Lucia wins GD USA Award

GradComD student Gina Lucia has won an award from GD USA for her branding project designed for Lucero Elementary School in the Bronx.

The principal Kattia Cuba, found her portfolio in an online search and contracted her to create their branding palette, identity, recruitment brochure, tshirt and promotional materials.

GradComD "Live Learn Design" wins Gold and Silver

The GradComD book Live Learn Design won GOLD in the University & College Designers Association (UCDA) Annual Competition (recruitment/art schools category). Only 6 Gold awards were given out of over 1000 entries.

Collecting History

Collections tell stories. From the experimental to the playful to the rational, Collecting History, Collecting Design shows a distinct point-of-view about mid 20th century graphic design and some of its pioneers working in the United States, Italy, and Switzerland–when Modernism’s distinctive graphic language emerged as an integral part of mass culture, from advertising and publicity to corporate identity.

Pratt Institute’s Graduate Communications Design (GradComD) programs have been educating graphic and package designers for over 40 years. We currently offer a 60-credit Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree and two 48-credit Master of Science (MS) degrees. Located in Manhattan, the program is ranked in the top 12 of over 200 graduate graphic design programs in the nation, as reported in U.S. News & World Report rankings. Pratt was recently named one of the ten most influential graphic design schools of the past 50 years by GDUSA, and ranked 6th in the top 25 design schools in the world by Business Insider.
