The Kerning Point

Ronald Jones & Experience Design

By Josh Eriksen on February 19, 2012

While doing some research for Thesis I, I fell the down the experience design rabbit hole and found this interesting talk from Ronald Jones in 2011. He heads up the Experience Design Group in Stockholm, Sweden. For anyone who's taken Concepts of Design, we learn that historically, and even contemporary, successful designers—whether trained in architecture, textiles, or communications—have a knack for it all. That is to say they are cross-disciplinary designers.

His talk about experience design reinforces this cross- and interdisciplinary approach towards solving problems through design. As designers, we are no longer designing things, rather, designing systems and experiences to influence change and solve problems. Check out the video below. Ron's talk is the first thirty-ish minutes.
